Welcome to Bemidji, Minnesota... the most racist community in North America

Join us in the struggle to put an end to the systemic and institutionalized racism in Bemidji, Minnesota that continues to permeate every feature of life in this Northen Minnesota resort community where the well-heeled and wealthy flock for four-season fun and recreation.

The struggle to develop, implement and enforce affirmative action in the construction, staffing and maintenance of the Bemidji Regional Event Center has become the focus of efforts of all decent and fair-minded people in the region.... Native American Indians pay taxes and are entitled to jobs on this public works project, too.

Lake Bemidji is the Headwaters of the Mighty Mississippi River. The BREC is situated on Lake Bemidji at the origin of the Mighty Mississippi River.

Poverty is the direct result of high unemployment in the Native American Indian community and the three nearby Indian Reservations intentionally maintained as a pool of cheap labor by racist employers in public institutions and private enterprises including the City of Bemidji, Beltrami County, Bemidji State University, the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Target, Wal-Mart, Office Max, McDonalds, and even small businesses like The Cabin Coffee House.

The Bemidji Pioneer Newspaper regularly spews racist hate.

Racist redistricting through the connivance of the Minnesota Democratic Farmer-Labor Party and the Republicans is designed to prevent Native American Indians from participating in the democratic process.

No Native American Indians sit on Bemidji's City Council.

There are no Native American Indians among the more than 200 Minnesota State Legislators.

Racism is a feature that permeates every facet of life in Bemidji, Minnesota.

Racism must end beginning with the development, implementation and enforcement of affirmative action with the Bemidji Regional Event Center.

Federal Executive Order #11246 was made into the law of the land for the express purpose of ending the very racism in employment now raising its ugly head with the Bemidji Regional Event Center.

The Republicans oppose affirmative action; the Democrats refuse to enforce affirmative action. The end result is the same: massive racist unemployment and poverty.

The struggle for an end to racism... kick it up a notch.

Please look for other areas of our beautiful state to spend your leisure and recreational time in until the racist Bemidji city officials and the racist firm, VenuWorks, hired to operate the BREC agree to develop, implement and enforce an affirmative action program providing Native American Indians the jobs they are entitled to.

Native American Indians from Bemidji and the surrounding Indian Reservations of Red Lake, Leech Lake and White Earth spend tens of millions of dollars every year with Bemidji businesses and pay millions of dollars in local, state and federal taxes funding this large public works project that will be turned over to a private firm, VenuWorks, to profit from. Native American Indians are entitled to jobs, too.

The struggle against racism, the time has come to:

kick it up a notch.

  1. As a Wal-Mart employee, I can say that almost all of the Native Americans employed there are hired as Maintenance or Cart pushers. The Caucasians hired to fill these positions are largely mentally handicapped individuals. These facts make it seem that Wal-Mart values a normal, intelligent Native American as much as a mentally handicapped Caucasian. When we also take into account the overtly racist persecution of Native Americans by their Asset Protection personnel(A.K.A. secret shoppers) and the lack of Native American managers in the Bemidji store, we can see that Wal-Mart Stores Inc. operates on a level of racism possibly in excess of that seen in Bemidji in general. I recommend that all Native Americans and all Minnesotans avoid Wal-Mart at all cost. Keep local money in local pockets and help to end racism. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in profit are leaving our community EACH DAY and these are dollars that you could spend supporting businesses staffed or owned by Native Americans. These dollars are the only thing that will convince Wal-Mart and Local Racists to change their practices.
